Temperature of 38 or higher

Return to school

Temperature Free for 24hours without the use of temperature reducing medication. Eg: Panadol, Nurofen.

I have been vomiting within the past 48 hours

Return to school

Free from vomiting for at least 2 solid meals.

I have had diarrhoea within the past 48 hours

Return to school

Free from diarrhea for at least 48 hours.

Return to school

Free from rash, itching or temperature. I have been medically cleared by my health care provider to return to school.

Treated with appropriate lice treatment at home.

Evaluated by my doctor and have been medically cleared to return to school.

Symptom free,  tested negative or given clearance from the doctor to return to school.

If your child has strep throat or another bacterial infection, he/she should stay at home until the antibiotics has been given for at least 24 hours and your health care provider has given permission for your child to return to school. We encourage you to seek medical attention when your child is sick and to  follow your health care provider’s recommendations about returning to school and other activities.

Medication

If your child needs to take medication for an illness, please hand it to a staff member. A medication form MUST be completed to give authorisation for the medication to be administered.

Please remember that...

  • If a medication is prescribed by a General Practitioner (Doctor), it will only be given as per the instructions on the original packaging.
  • No medication will be given without the written permission from the parent/guardian or authorised person, detailing name of medication and date, time and dosage to be administered.
  • No medication, other than that in the original container, with the original label instructions bearing the child’s name and with a current “use by” date will be given.
  • No medications are to be left in the children’s bags – they should be handed to a staff member.
